Ecological path in the mountainous Adygea
«By the trails of the wild cat»
The mountainous Adygea- is amazing place, which impresses not only the richness of the nature, but falls in love with itself and gives abyss of positive emotions. Mountainous, rocks, canyons, rivers, waterfalls and lakes, broad-leaved and coniferous forests are all- the mountainous Adygea. It’s very important to keep their ecology, esthetic and environmental value.
Today in the valley of the river Belaya the amazing eco-route is arranged and it’s called « By the trails of the wild cat». It originates not far from stanitsa Dakhovskaya and goes along the Alpine meadows along the flow river Belaya. – river Deguako.
Brief description of eco-path
The path “By the trails of the wild cat” with the length of 2700km, crosses the main plant communities and ecosystems of valley: floodplain and broad-leaved forests of the valley river Belaya, oak wood, manmade lakes, wet and dry meadows, grasslands, lowlands and transitional swamps.
The eco-path tells about the emergence and development of natural communities of the valley and republic, biology and ecology of typical and rare kinds of animals and plants. During the walking along this eco-path visitors will meet the signs of animals ‘life, learn about the influence of some dominant species on the natural landscape.
The guests of the path get acquaintance with the history of the development of the region’s land by human, traditional types of management of natural resources in this region of the mountainous Adygea as well as the secrets of legends and archeology.
Also, the visitors of the path will be able to join the ancient mystery of this place, to visit the preserved dolmen Deguako (1500 years BCE), the surviving remains of other dolmens, mysterious labyrinths, the consecrated spring « Annunciation spring», memorial crosses and orthodox temple of the Annunciation of Blessed Virgin.
The goal of the eco-path « By the trails of the wild cat»:
Expression of the love to the motherland in people, desire and ability to take care of it. Preservation of the landscape and rare species of animals and plants of the valley river Deguako.
Main concerns of the eco-path:
- Transferring of knowledge to visitors about the nature of Adygea and the valley of the river Deguako;
- Transferring of knowledge to visitors about biology, and ecology of the rare species of animal The Wild Cat;
- Transferring of knowledge to visitors about the history and culture of Adygea and district between the river Belaya and river Deguako;
- Creature of organized path around the valley of the river Deguako;
- Creature of the informational base of the nature of river Deguako;
- Organization of monitoring and science research on the territory of the valley.
Eco route will be equipped with racks and decorated by the markers and has several kinds of routes (for «physicist and for lyric poets») on the paper for guests of different age. There is opportunity to arrange excursions for groups of different age.
